Trying to cook things that you don’t really know can be really difficult. For example I am sure that many people know what a kipper is but the first time that my brother brought it from Sainsbury I thought it was something wrong with the fish. My brother always tries to make it difficult for me, he goes and takes various ingredients that we havent ever tried and lets me to try and make something out of them.… To be honest i realised what a kipper/herring was later on…but it took some time.. :-s
Well, that’s not always bad as that has as a result -sometimes- to get something nice to eat.
Ok, this one I guess is more ideal for the summer, but either way it really good to try as a salad whenever you can.
Kipper Salad with Pasta
Ingredients
- 1-2 fillets kipper
- 200ml mayonnaise
- 1 full fat greek yogurt
- 1 small bunch of parsley
- Black pepper and salt
- 2 garlic cloves sliced
- Pasta of your choice
Ok so lets imagine this…its Sunday morning and you want to cook something easy and quick without a lot of trouble. Why? cause last night you mixed rum and wine and you promised yourself not to make it again.
So…
Method
Step 1
first of all drink a lot of water to get the alcohol out of your blood.
Step 2
in a big bowl start boiling the pasta that you like just like you do any other time.
Step 3
in the same time start clearing the kipper fillets and cut them into small pieces. You need to take other the big bones but also be careful not to throw away any of the good meat.
Step 4
when the pasta is ready then dry it and let it cold
Step 5
put in a big bowl the yogurt and mix it with the mayonnaise. Start to stir them really well and add the salt, pepper and parsley until you are happy with the taste.
Step 6
mix the sauce that you created with the pasta and the fish in a big bowl and leave it in the fridge to get cold for a while.
-serve and enjoy!
p.s. to be honest it ..maaay…be a little bit heavy for your stomach after a night out…but what the hell. Thats how it happened that day.
